March Newsletter, 2025

Beaver Valley Elementary

I hope that this newsletter finds you in good health. It seems that colds and flus have been circulating at Beaver Valley for several months now. We don’t seem to be getting a break or experiencing a lull.  Please know that we are disinfecting desks and other high contact surfaces on a daily basis. We may have turned a corner as attendance is improving. The third quarter is almost over and the school year will also quickly wind down.  I hope that you are looking forward to spending time with family over Spring Break. I expanded the dates list so that I could include Brush Family Literacy Night. This will be a Thomson and Beaver Valley co-venture. In the past, this was very successful and we anticipate an even larger crowd this year. Please plan on attending and being patient because we expect a full house. We will be providing updates on specific events for that evening. We have some GREAT things planned!  Please contact us if you have any questions or would like to volunteer for Brush Family Literacy Night.

Respectfully,

Mr. Brian Singley, Principal

Mr. James Wilson, Assistant Principal

From the Assistant Principal’s Chair: LET THEM SEE YOU DO IT.

March is Pi Month (as in 3.14….)  While our kids don’t work with this number as much as they will, it will be important to them in future courses.  What is more important to our students is that this is the time of year when all of the spring and summer activities do their sign-up, and schedules start piling up.  This would be a great time to talk with them about time management and how you manage to keep up with everything.

Many times, students experiencing athletics and other extracurricular events for the first time shift their focus to these fun activities and lose track of school and their need to stay up with what is going on.

Build that schedule, LET THEM SEE YOU DO IT, and have them work it out with you as well.

Counselor’s Chronicle:

This month’s Character Strong focus is Cooperation.

We all experience situations in which we must work with others to accomplish a goal or task in our lives. Whether we are working with friends or with someone new, we need tools to help us successfully navigate those situations and maintain healthy relationships.
