Beaver Valley Elementary
Happy new year! We hope that your holidays were filled with friends and family. Beaver Valley is eager to begin the second half of the school year. With December behind us and the major testing windows closed, Beaver Valley will be looking at fresh data. We will be using that data to regroup and better meet student needs. Students will be letting their artistic talents shine with live performances and the creation of unique artwork. Please make room in your schedule to attend. Teachers also begin preparing in January for Parent Teacher Conferences that happen in early February. Please maintain close communication with your child's teacher to schedule and attend conferences. Conferencing with your child’s teacher ensures that we are in partnership to provide your child the best learning opportunities. Please contact us if you have any questions.
Respectfully,
Mr. Brian Singley, Principal
Mr. James Wilson, Assistant Principal

From the Assistant Principal’s Chair: LET THEM SEE YOU DO IT.
Happy New Year! As we move forward into the second half of the school year, it is a good time to think about what has happened and what we want to accomplish in the upcoming year. This is a great time to work on goal setting with them. Take some time to set New Year's Resolutions with them. If you LET THEM SEE YOU DO IT with them, they will build the connections to the normalcy of planning ahead and setting goals.
This can have many connections to what they are learning in school, it really just depends on what goals are being set. However, goal setting is something they have been working on in the classroom. The third and fifth graders had goal setting in their curriculum during the month of October, so it should be familiar to them. All students worked on TOP Goals (Target - Obstacles - Plan) Counseling class in October as well.
Counselor’s Chronicle:
This month’s Character Strong focus is Perseverance.
Perseverance develops tools that help students work through challenges to grow instead of giving up.
